We at Team Success have a strong belief in two two things regarding our children.
1. Every youth should have the opportunity to succeed in life. Every youth should know how it feels to live a life free from extreme drama, heartache and broken promises. Every youth should have the knowledge and resources that will afford them the chance to obtain the Great American Dream of SUCCESS.
AND
2. Every youth, at least once before they reach adulthood, should be able to experience the magic and the wonder of DISNEYLAND.
Team Success provides a program that facilitates LIFE SKILLS workshops, provides community resources and contacts, and individual assistance to foster youth ages 16 - 18. This age is crucial since they are on the verge of emancipation whether they are prepared or not. Similar to the general youth population, many of the youth in foster care are sadly unprepared. The painful difference is that for foster youth there is often no strong family unit that will provide them assistance before and after their emancipation thus leaving them virtually stranded in an often cold, cruel world.
Are their programs available? Is there money available to them?Yes, but not enough, never enough to meet the growing foster youth population.
Like many youth,those in foster care need to be trained in the areas that can benefit them most. And like many youth, at times they seem uninterested in things that will impact them the most in life. However, when provided the proper stimulus to succeed, they will be able to enter a world of peace and prosperity for themselves, their families, and the community in which they live.
In that regard, each and every youth who enrolls and completes our 6 month Life Skills training program (in good standing) will be invited to participate in a 1 day trip to Disneyland.
The “Help a Youth Discover the Magic” Foundation will provide training in five key areas: a) Self Development; b) Life Skills; c) Employability; d) Social Skills and e) Entrepreneurship.
A) Self Development - We discuss Self-Esteem and Self-Reliance issues using our patented PROVACK module. What is a Man/Woman?, Who are You?, Self esteem/Self-awareness. Substance Abuse Prevention. Staying Out of and away from trouble. “Why staying in school and not dropping out is kind of cool without a doubt” We build up then build out.
B) Life Skills - Included in this training is Credit, Money Management, Consumerism, Banking, Home Ownership/Renting, Domestic Assistance, Cooking, and more
C) Employability - We discuss Resume and Cover Letter Preparation, Marketing Yourself, Understanding the Needs of the Employer, Effective Job Networking, Finding the Hidden Job Market, Creating Job opportunities, The Do's and Don'ts of Interviewing followed by Mock Interviews, and Job Retention.
D) Social Skills - Team building. Relationships (family, peer, partnerships, school, work) Etiquette and Manners, Respect and Integrity.
E) Entrepreneurship - Where we teach our students How to Make $3000 per Month Legally!”. Included topics are Business Plan Development, Financing, Marketing, Product Placement, and Salesmanship.
In our efforts to have our youth reach and/or maintain at least a 2.0GPA, we will also provide tutoring when appropriate and needed.
Those who successfully complete the program will become one of 150 youth who are driven in a beautiful charter bus to Anaheim, California where they will stay in a reasonable and highly rated hotel. Next they will be able to attend both the main Disney Theme Park and the California Adventure Theme Park next door - a full day tour of magical adventures they will not want to miss and something they will remember and talk about for the rest of their lives.
